"Let it Be"--yeah right!

So i'm in the USU women's choir and it is ton of fun and i seriously love it! We are singing some great songs and our concert on April 10th will rock, but on April 3 all the USU choirs will be having a concert (Choir Rocks!) that will consist of ALL Beatles songs, which sounds like it would be great, but...i'm having issues with it. There will be 3 songs that all the choirs will be singing together: "Let It Be" "Hey Jude" and "Sgt. Peppers...Reprise". now if you know me at all you know that "Hey Jude" is probably my favorite song EVER and so i was stoked! until today. The choir director (of USU) came in to teach us the arrangements. Guess what the women's choir gets to sing on "Let.." and "Jude"?? OOHs and AHHs. oh and the word 'better' on "jude". i'm not happy. okay i'm over it. not really, but i kinda have to be...

okay. I'm done!

Beatles rock, oohs and ahhs suck! :P

"A life without Love? That's terrible!"

There is something I have to get out. I've been harboring it for quite some time. My first semester of college there was this boy, lets call him AF (Air Force), and he really liked me. Like head over heels. It was scary, it was exciting, it was fun, it was too much for me. I was just starting down this crazy road of actual life, I wasn't expecting that my first WEEK of college I would find this boy who made me laugh, who made me smile, who made me feel excitement. And I couldn't handle it. I panicked. He wanted to BE with me, and that scared me. I liked him, I did, I just couldn't submit myself to what I saw as utter and complete vunerability. So I told him that. Then things got vicious. I don't want to delve into that part of this story, but needless to say, I hated myself for it. I tried to make it better and not to make myself look like such a crazy person, or as he put it, a psycho person. But in his mind, I was too late. He had moved on and literally wanted NOTHING to do with me again. And I allowed myself to believe that it didn't matter, that I was over it as well and that he was a jerk and I was better off without all of the crap. I lied. I screwed up something that (who knows) could've been really good. Now AF is on a mission and is writing one of my best friends, and they really like each other, but him? He still hates me. I don't know what to do other than let it run its course, but it sucks because I wish AF knew how much I hate that I hurt him and that I panicked like I did.
just goes to show that the movie 'Practical Magic' was right:
"Plant lavender by the front gate for luck, always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, and fall in Love as OFTEN as you can."
I'm done.

"You Jump, I Jump Jack."

I've figured it out!! I have no more need to stress about where my life is going and what i'm going to do with it and blah blah blah! I'm devoting my life to "stalking" Leonardo DiCaprio, my true and real love! haha, but seriously. When I was in 6th grade, my friends and I were OBSESSED with Titanic and more importantly, Leo. We were crazy! My room was COVERED in posters of him and it was awesome!! Then, I grew up and it was a little scary, so I took down the posters but I was still in LOVE with Leo.
Well, years passed, and I had new crushes (celebrity, of course) but I still harbored a soft spot for my love Leo DiCaprio. Then the wonderful movie 'The Departed' came out, and I remembered why I loved him to begin with. He is gorgeous, he is talented, he is GORGEOUS, he is (in short) AMAZING!!!! This is why it is my new life's goal to stalk him. and by stalk him, I mean find him and marry him, and never leave his side. ever.
I'm not kidding. This is serious. I will work for 3 months, and then I will go find him.

okay. I'm done. :D

"Once your Heart is involved, it ALL comes out in Moron."

School sucks. Boys suck. Work Sucks. Money sucks. basically, life right now sucks! I'm in one of my moods that I absolutely hate! Its that mood where everything sucks and you blame yourself for the suckage. And yes. I said suckage! I don't know what I want to do this summer and this whole school being over in a little over a month is freakin' me out! It is all coming so freakin' fast that I don't feel like I can get it done in time, but then I can't wait for it to be over because I don't want to be in Logan anymore! But then at the same time, I want the weeks to go by slow so that I have the chance to figure out what I'm going to do this summer--job wise, cuz I have NO idea whatsoever!!! I hate that feeling! I can't rely on my parents as much as I have been lately. I just can't. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm scared of doing on my own; which is normal, I know, but it is so damn scary! I want to be on my own, but I really don't know if I can do it. I really don't.
Okay. I can't think about this anymore, so I just had to get it out.
-I'll be back.

College Politics

talking politics with college girls is entertaining and hilarious because the either don't have a clue and just want to be in the conversation or they are fully educated and are a great source of debate. the current topic of discussion is the war in Iraq and who would do a better job as president come 2008: condie rice, hilary r. clinton, or barack obama. personally i don't particularly think that any of those canidates would do a FABULOUS job but if i had to vote for one of them it would be hilary clinton because she is smarter and she has seen first hand the stresses and jobs of the presidency. also she has the experience of politics that would benefit the country. although my personal canidates for the presidency (serious and joke) would be Al Gore (serious) and Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert (joke).
i love politics. it is so entertaining to be talking about it on a college campus.
oh and currently we are talking about education costs and who gets to go cheaper: people from Asia or Hispanics. i'm pleasantly keeping my mouth shut because i don't feel like debating stupid people. :D

until next time...

"Hairy legs are your only link to Reality"

so spring break is over and i am not happy. i am so not ready to be at school! but the happy thing is, it is only 6 more weeks and then i am home!!!! and then it is only 7 weeks until my sister will be here with her babies and the scotsman!! THEN, by the middle of May (cross your fingers!!) i will have a nephew!!!! so that is what i have keeping me going for the last stretch of school. it sucks i know, but i'll get over it (and through it)!

tonight was also my little brother (aka running son/brother)'s court of honor and it was wonderful! a little bit blah cuz of droning speakers, but ultimately it was really sweet and good! i'm very proud of the youngest clan member! he gone and done good! lots of family was able to come which was great.

and thats about it for my comments of the night.
until next week:
same bat-time. same bat-channel.

"Peanuts, Cool. I'm in!"

So far this glorious spring break, I have accomplished...nothing. :D But in reality I have done the following:
1) Movies
-Breach (*fabulous!!)
-Bridge to Terabithia (sp??) (*surprisingly good, upsettingly sad!)
-Charlotte's Web (*good, but I hate spiders so the little ones at the end freaked me out!)
2) Lunch with my Dad at Cafe Rio (really good and a wonderful lunch with daddy!)
3) Lunches with Mom (always fun and always a tad hilarious!)
4) Shopping with Mom (again, always fun but a little bit bad...)
-Target
-Outlet Stores in Park City (Banana Republic, the Gap, and Old Navy)
5) Dinner with my siblings, Dad and step mom (fun and funny, as always)
6) Slept in
7) Watched mass quantities of Law and Order: CI and SVU (both fabulous and both disturbing at times.)
8) Watch Harry Potter 1&2 (plan on 3&4!)
That about sums up the 6 days I've been here. I love being home! It is so...homey and comfy! I can't wait for the semester to be over so that I can be home more!! I'm on of those weird "teenager's" (used quoted cuz I'm 20) who actually enjoys being with family!!

Today was a really fun day because I got to go to my sister-in-law's class (she is a 1st grade teacher) and help out with their math and be the "visitor of the day" and tell/teach them about photography and it was so much fun! S-I-L was very pleased with the way it went because I was able to get the kids enthused about the camera's! I love going to her classroom's because I love little kids! They were all so cute and hilarious!

The enthusiastic class!

How NOT to take a picture :D (that is my finger!)

March 10, 2007

So you said there'd be movies. and there aren't...

So it is spring break and I couldn't be happier!!! It came at the perfect time I feel. Except that the current movie market for mom and I is not so happy, but crap-tastic movies has never stopped us before! All hail the world of crap movies! Being able to spend some quality uncomfortable and slighty gross movie theater chairs with my mom is something I'm so very excited for!
Also the shopping stuff doesn't suck either.
I'm trying to re-invent my look and to do that, I need a whole new wardrobe and today was the first installment of said wardrobe. I got some really good sleek and flattering clothes and of course some fabulous new shoes! As I have recently decided to start saying: the outfit is as only good as the shoes that match!
Over and out. :D

Boo you Whore!

So this is going to be short (I hope) and sweet.

There is this boy, who we'll call Jack (short for jackass). In November we started talking daily, multiple times. It was getting pretty strange, meaning we weren't dating AT ALL but we were talking EVERYDAY all day. We most definitely come from two COMPLETELY different backrounds/childhoods! I mean, he was raised in a household where it was okay for racist/bigot comments to be said, and I, wasn't. I was raised to be a tolerant person and not judge others by trivial things such as color or religion (or at all). Jack and I clashed a few times on this specific subject and I finally stood up for myself and told him I can't be friends with someone who feels it is okay to treat people the way he does and I couldn't hang out with him if he didn't respect my position on this. Because I realize, I can't change him (as much as I want to), but the least he could do is respect me and not say anything to me or around me.

Things started to get a little bit better and back to normal for us. Then Jack pushed me over the edge with a text message that is in NO WAY appropriate to be posted on the internet. I told him I was done and then I thought I was done. Jack thought different. He texted me tonight asking me if I was still mad at him and when I said that I was, he just said "Fine. Have a nice spring break."

I'm just a little annoyed. I hate guys! They can be so damn irritating and stupid!!! Just had to get that out. Peace!

I Love You...tube!!

YouTube might be the greatest thing since sliced bread (or some other not-over-used cliche)!!! It has everything you could ever want to watch! It is media heaven!! For example, I just watched an ENTIRE Backstreet Boys concert! It was amazing!

I've also been able to catch myself up on Law and Order: SVU and to re-watch some classic Friends episodes!! Also That 70s Show! It is amazing the things you can find on the internet now and to find them for free is even better!!!

Oh and I have no shame in admitting that I still love the Backstreet Boys. Just FYI.

Spring Break is next week and I'm so excited!!!! My mom and I will be seeing a movie EVERY day I'm in town! And if you haven't caught on yet, I love Movies!!!
K, I'm done.

Movies cont.

Movies continued...
Like I said, I enjoyed all (now 50) movies but I loved some more than others. And per request I will say which ones they are (in no particular order) and why.
1) Lawrence of Arabia
-really really slow moving! and my mom is probably right, better for a big screen than a small computer screen..
2) The Grapes of Wrath
-gotta say, won't be reading the book anytime soon. I'm glad I saw it but it just wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be.
3) 2001: A Space Odyssey
-if you need an explanation for this, you need a catscan. I get why its on the list...just not as high as it is...
4) The Bridge on the River Kwai
-its not that it was bad; it was actually really good. it just isn't my taste, so I really was most thrilled when it was over.
5) King Kong
-just not good. fake. dialogue? seriously? again get why, but not that high.
6) Amadeus
-wierd but good. great music. that's about it.
7) Dr. Strangelove
-just wierd. should be in like the last 30, not the first.
8) Jaws
-I HATE SHARKS. 'nuf said.
9) All Quiet on the Western Front
-I think I disliked this film so much because my first introduction to it was in my 10th grade history class and what10th grader wants to hear about this?!
10) It's A Wonderful Life
-I think I might be shot for this, but it is so GRR!!! it is a fine movie, but it DEFINITELY doesn't deserve all the praise its gotten over the years. Plus, watching it EVERY YEAR at christmas like 200 times, doesn't help either.

So again, I really did enjoy them all and appreciate them for what they are worth, but I would consider changing the order of some of these movies!

Oh yeah, and I really can't get enough of Marlon Brando! Every movie I've seen with him in it is just plain AMAZING!!! On the Waterfront? The Godfather?? seriously. he is amazing!

March 2, 2007

Movies

So as of May 2006, I have started to tackle the American Film Institution (AFI) Top 100 Movies. I am now 49 movies in, and I have to say of the 49 I've personally seen, I LOVED 39 of them. I enjoyed the rest, but I thoroughly loved those 39. I mean, movies don't come much better than The Graduate or A Streetcar Named Desire! My personal top five (which is actually quite different from AFI's):

1) The Godfather
2) A Streetcar Named Desire
3) Bonnie and Clyde
4) Chinatown
5) Casablanca

So, while I understand why AFI's top 5 is the way it is, those above 5 are just movies I could (and do) watch over and over again! I will continue with the list so who knows; this list may change!

I think that I get this addiction to movies from my mother and frankly, I couldn't be happier with that. I mean of all addictions I could have gotten in the world, the ones I've gotten from my mom are pretty great ones! I mean, I know first hand that there is nothing better in the world than curling up with your adorable dogs and watching a GREAT movie! Also, having a great outfit and pair of shoes on to GO to a great movie, doesn't suck either.

March 1, 2007

So UTAH STATE AGGIES absolutely kicked ASS tonight against the University of Nevada (aka the 9th ranked college team in the nation)!!! It was a close game and it went into OT which is crazy for a team like Nevada!! All the Aggies did their part in the game, but Chaz Spicer went ABOVE & BEYOND tonight!!! the FINAL score was 79-77 and we Aggies were so damn psyched that we rushed the damn floor!!!!

SHOWIN' THAT AGGIE PRIDE!!!!

Well Hell...O!
