well. as you can tell from my title, the first snow of the season was today.
IT WAS CRAZY!
But of course it was beautiful, as snow always is...
my car drove like a dream (well as dreamy as the old lady can get) which has
been worrying me since it started acting like an old lady...
so, no big worries there
BUT with the snow, comes some old weird memories...
i think i'm agreeing w/ lorelai on one more thing:
the snow is lucky....

Breakfast, shopping, and movie pending with blogging mom and teacher-in-training cousin=fabulous hilarious fun!

As per thanksgiving tradition, the 3 of us go on a shopping extravaganza and of course breakfast is involved, and it is always such a blast!

so basically, a nice dinner with a couple of friends is absolutely fantastic.
great food (Trio, of course), hilarious conversation, what could be better?


there isn't really much to say in this post except for that.
i miss having a social life. granted, the one i had in logan wasn't exceptionally a mile a minute experience, but at least i had one.
here? nada. nothing. zero.
so when i occasionally get to go out and have fun, its REALLY fun.

i need to do more of that...

So, these are some of my favorites...I like working at the zoo but its mostly just a temporary job. While its fun, its not really me. DON'T FREAK OUT!! I like it, but I realize I need something closer to me and not so...with food. :D

Any way, with that said, on to the purpose of this post
there is none...
mostly just yay new internet connection.

Also, december at work is kinda gonna suck but be really interesting.
The Hogle Zoo is doing something brand new this year called
"Zoo Lights" which is supposed to be amazing in decorating the entire zoo in millions (or maybe thousands...) of holiday (holiday, not christmas) lights.
What sucks is that because of the lack of employees, I and 2 others will be the only full time non-salary employees working 9am-9pm. yikes. oh well, lots of money for me! :D

okay, I'm done.

So basically, here is what has been going on with Abbey since August.

--I have officially quit Subway and have been gone since September. So I guess I can say that I'm OFFICIALLY done with Subway when I've had a different job for at least 6 months without falling back into Subway. So far, so good...

--I am currently working at the Utah Hogle Zoo...in foods, but hopefully only temporary; although w/ that said, its quite entertaining where I am and I quite like it so far. Its a big change but I am really liking it.

--I have 5 friends my age or younger getting married by the end of the year and it is oddly depressing for non-obvious reasons.
*a hint would be: I've never had a serious relationship (but I'm only 20...) yet, my married friend total by Jan 1, 2008 will be 8...am I just doing something wrong?...

--I still have multiple plans for my future that have little push to become a reality. Namely:
a) Trip to Italy (and Greece)
b) Becoming a nanny or au pair
c) Moving out of my mom's house
d) Moving to Scotland & living w/ my sister for a month before traveling around Europe

--I still have almost zero social life to speak of. I'm tired all the time. Yet, I still manage to complain about the lack of S.L. when I just need to muster up the energy to do something about it.

--I'm still saving as much money as I can so that I can go back to school by (hopefully; cross your fingers everyone) fall 2008! Because, with this much needed time off, I've been able to realize that what I want to do is get a college degree. I still have the options I originally started with:
-English
-Editing
-(Hell, why not) Pre-Law
I want to be in school. Its what I feel I need to be doing. Saving money is what I need to be doing right now, but school is what I need to do. and I'm happy with that and I feel that come next August, I will be able to enroll in classes again and do the work and get that grades I know I am capable of getting.


--But mostly, what I've been doing since my last post is focusing on staying happy. So far, so successful! I have my days, but ultimately, I'm so happy and I feel like I'm mostly getting my life back on some sort of track instead of wandering around aimlessly. Yay me. :D


Well, I think I've sufficiently blogged to my mom and sisters happiness (and of course mine), so I will sign off for now. And I promise to keep them coming on a slightly more regular basis...
