or at least to talk about what has taken me so damn long to write another post!
I decided that I wasn't going to post again until I got a job as a Nanny.
So here I am, posting again. So yes. I got a job as a Nanny. In Boston.
I leave Utah on April 4th and officially start the job on April 7th.

I'm very excited about this opportunity and I think it will be great!
So much to do before that time comes but I think I can do it!

I just hope that my family puts all their hard earned money together to get
me a kick ass going away present for example a digital camera for all the
great places I'll go and the cute kids I get! hint hint...

okay, so i have been tagged by mi madre to blog about the 3 things i love excluding the obvious. so, here i go:


1) Gilmore Girls. Its just true. for those who don't know, all of my blog post titles are a quote from random episodes of this fabulous show. most of the things i personally quote come from this show. but since you probably want an idea of why this is included in my list of "loves", i'll explain. this show is a show that i can just pick an episode and watch it at anytime and feel happy afterwards. i own all 7 seasons on DVD and i honestly think i'd be "lost" without them. everyone has one of those things in their lives that just constantly makes sense to them and gives them the little boost of happiness ppl need to get through tough times. this is mine...

2) Curling up with a good book. Any book. and if its a favorite book, all the better. there is nothing more relaxing then curling up on your couch, or bed or a fabulous chair with a great blanket and just reading to your hearts content. throw on a great ipod mix and its the making of the best hours a person could have. i have learned this from my parents and i couldn't be more grateful for the early example of reading...

3) A good laugh. Nothing bad can be said about having a good laugh. no matter the source, not a single person (at least no one i know) can say that they don't feel measurably better after a good laugh. but i can honestly say that i LOVE it. whether, for me, it comes from lack of sleep with college friends, reminiscing with an old friend and laughing until my stomach hurts, or just being with family and laughing at a silly baby or a crazy dog or just laughing at each other during a great conversation. or from (my personal favorite) a stupid skit or whatever found on youtube. a good laugh can do wonders for a person and i try and laugh often.


So, there are my loves and though the are weird, that is the point, to think out of the box for things that just fill your heart with joy and love.

okay, so about a month ago, maybe a little less than that i decided that i wanted to re-read the ENTIRE Harry Potter series from the beginning with no breaks. I did this. it was awesome!!!
it really did make a big difference in the way i saw some of the books and i got to see new thing from them that i haven't noticed before...it was great.
so this post is basically my way of recommending people to do it. re-read the series ppl. it will be the greatest month-ish of your life!
also, i want to list my personal order of the books. and why...maybe, i haven't fully decided...

1) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
*It just gives so much detail into what has happened and what need(ed) to happen
2) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
*It was just a fantastic finish to a great series. it really tied everything together, even if it had a slightly cheesy after taste, but i think it was necessary.
3) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
*It was still one of those innocent books but it finally gave Harry some hope. so sweet..
4) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
*So many great moments in that book!!! 'nuf said!
5) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
*Basically when i very first read it, i literally could NOT put it down. my mom laughed at me cuz with every page i turned i kept muttering "its just so good..."
6) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
*It was truly fantastic but so dark. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it was so whiney! haha
7) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
*Basically for some reason this book was just never my favorite...it was good and totally up to Ms. J. K. Rowling's standings, but just some reason not my #1...

Okay, i'm done with this one...but i just had to tell the internet world that people should re-read (or just read if they have been living under a rock) the entire HP series. it is worth it and a great read. all of them. :D

this blog is for my eldest sister Amelia.
it is her birthday today.
her 29th to be exact.
So not much else to say except:

So updates on Abbey:

1) I have quit the zoo and Wednesday Jan. 16 2008 was my last day. I worked there for EXACTLY 4 months and 1 day. Yay me!

2) I'm working at a company called Linda Weston Personnel which is basically a company that sorts insurance claims for United Health Care. Strange job...gonna be an easy job....but hey! It's temporary!

3) I, Abigail Eve Bickmore went to Orem High School's Preference dance on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. I'm 21. It was HILARIOUS!!! Reason why, you ask? My fabulous cousin Diane is a teacher at Orem High and was "roped" into chaperoning tonight. It was way fun especially since we realized that we TOTALLY crashed a high school dance. It was seriously fun though.

4) I've been recently reunited with a good friend of mine and it has been so much fun! Movies and just hanging out in general. Finally getting a life and its awesome!

5) I am still talking to the nanny agency and just waiting for the right family and situation to come along!

So. little fun fact for my 2 readers out there. haha :D

I have been home from college since May. 2007. it is now January. 2008. and my room is a little more than half-way unpacked. from college. since may. wow.

Basically, since May I've been saying "I'll unpack this weekend" "I'll clean my room this week" etc. those weeks and weekends have now turned into almost a YEAR LATER!!! what is wrong with me! it is utterly absurd! I'm literally ashamed of my self for how long it has taken me to unpack. my room scares me a little. i hate spiders and spiders like dark dirty places. that is my room! i'm scared! :-S

But the important thing is that my room is in the ACTUAL process of getting cleaned and unpacked. phew.


the even scarier thing? i didn't remember half the clothes that i had that i LOVE just sitting there waiting to be unpacked! i have six loads of laundry to do (well, 4 now)!!! i'm pathetic!

but again important thing: its getting done! :D
and so am i!

Sad two days for me and my family...but things will be okay. Its weird right now. I know betty is probably better and not in pain but its sad. I know Walker is gonna be great in Singapore, but I've never had to say goodbye...
But on a different note, the nanny thing is still on, all my references are in and my profile has gone out so its just a matter of time now.
AND I got a job that does not involve FOOD!!!! :D:D:D:D:D hallelujah!!! :D I start next Thursday and I'm super psyched...not necessarily for the job, but there ya go.
