"Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice You'll make it now."

So. Apparently I watch Gilmore Girls a lot.
And talk to my friends KC, Diane, Rachelle and Suzzie on the phone a lot.
I don't do either--well. Not when I'm on the job! Haha.
The reason I bring this up at all is because Connor is one HILARIOUS kid.
He has about a million play phones and he likes to use all of them (at various times of course) to call MY friends (but only the above listed) and tell them all sorts of stories including his most recent stories all about his dates with Lorelai, Luke, and Rory (it is a double date apparently).
The most recent date with Rory was when they "went to dinner and then we went to church because you should always go to church." oh. and Rory was "very silly and crashed into a statue but she is okay because she was just kidding."

I know that I watch GG a lot. I mean, I'm in no way denying it, but the only time I watch it (now) is when the boys are napping. When Connor first discovered it, it was because I would have it on while making lunch for the boys but he would talk about it SO MUCH that I think Lori (his mom for those who are confused) was getting slightly concerned that I watched it a lot, so then I started recording it and watching it at naptime.
And the phone calls to friends, well, I do OCCASIONALLY talk to them on the phone but not enough that it is the only thing I do during the day...again, I think Lori/Jonathan were getting slightly concerned with what I actually do during the day..
:S not exactly comforting.
But still...I now have great stories out of it!

Connor told me after he woke up from his nap today that he is "going to miss you (me) all the way to the moon, to Auntie Linda's (living in VA) to Uncle Peter's (Linda's husband) van and back home again." Such a cutie...

Okay. I'm done. :D

"Where you lead, I will follow, Anywhere that you tell me too, If you need, if you need me to be with you, I will follow where you lead."

I just had an INCREDIBLE weekend with some really good friends.
It was never anything major but it was just low key (late nights) fun.
On Friday we went to a roof top party in Charlestown, MA and it was just COOL!
On Saturday my friend Emallie and I went with my friend Jake to help him search for and buy a new (used) car and I got to test drive my brand new favorite car, a 2009 Black Convertible VW Eos. Oh. My. Gosh. HEAVEN!! I want it!! If only I had $35,000...haha. Then after the car shopping the 3 of us met up near our new church meeting place for a BBQ with the ward. It was lots of fun as well! And after that about 10 of us went to go see the HILARIOUS Pixar movie "UP!". Seriously...it was really really funny!
Then on Sunday..well I had church and then after church Em and I went to her sister's boyfriends house for dinner. It was a surprising amount of fun. :D
And that was my weekend--welcome to summer!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay. I'm done..

" I'm everything I am, because you Loved me"

Why do I love summer you ask? Okay. I know you didn't ask, but I wanted to share...

1) The cabin. It isn't really summer without at least ONE trip to heaven..

2) The beach. I love it so...

3) Just the good old sunshine...

4) Fabulous FANTASTIC friends and random, crazy and awesome days/nights...

AND

5) Not fitting into ANY of the clothes I wore last summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously. NONE of them. All to baggy...Talk about welcoming in summer!!!! :D

Oh, and there are many more things I love about summer, but nothing can top those 5 things.

Okay, I'm done.
Enjoy!

"The only way to get what you want, is to become a human yourself."

I just HAD to post this little "argument" I just had with Connor.

*We are fighting (aka he is crying) because he doesn't want to clean up the toys he has played with in the basement even though he KNOWS the rule is that you pick up any toys you played with before we can go upstairs.

A: Connor. I'm not going to say this again so listen closely.
C: DON'T SAY IT!!!
A: Say what? You don't know what I'm going to say.
C: Yes I do.
A: Okay, what am I going to say?
C: I don't know but I don't want to hear it!

This whole conversation was had while I was calmly (okay annoyingly) standing by and trying to not raise my voice to get him to stop crying/whining (because "connor? do you get what you want from me when you whine?") and pick up toys, and he was going between tears, whining and screeching his displeasure at me.

Just to inform you all--the 2 rules about basement play are as follows:
1--you have to pick up all toys played with before going upstairs (as previously stated)
2--Connor has to pick up 5 toys on his own (and put them in the right place) before I will help him, and he only gets help if he asks me nicely ("help with toys please pick up" as he "politely" asks)

just thought I would share that because that conversation made me laugh really hard--well. the last line especially.
alright I'm done.

"I can see clearly now, the rain is gone...It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) Sun-Shiny day"

So, my weekend was jam packed full of fun fun FUN!!! I LOVE my friends and my life here!! :D
Friday night--I got a fantastic massage...
Saturday afternoon/night--SALEM (as you know, my fave place in MA) with 2 friends Jon and Aimee. It was great because I got to see/do things I haven't done before. :D
Sunday (all day)--got up for church at 7:30 am (as opposed to 11 am) to go to our new temporary church at the Episcopal Divinity School which has us meeting at 10 am now instead of 2 pm. Beautiful location and chapel and we are all grateful for the hospitality of the local religions. After church got out at 1:00, about 10 friends (including me) went to my friend Rob's house for a BBQ and then we hung out there for a few hours and played games and stuff. Then we went to my friend Christie's house (where about 6-7 more ppl showed up) for birthday cake and more hanging out/games. I left my house at 9 am and didn't get back to it until 11:00 pm. But I was only home long enough to get some stuff together and bring the car back because I stayed at my fabulous friend Emallie's house so that Monday fun could happen ASAP!!
Monday (Memorial Day!)--went to Malden, MA city parade (hilariously lame but thoroughly entertaining), then we got our stuff together (me and Em) to go meet about 15ish people at a beach in Rockport, MA! We spent about 4.5 hours at the beach then we went to Harvard Square and hung out for about 4 more hours and THEN I finally got home at a little after midnight! Whew.
Oh and then on Tuesday, Emallie and I made dinner for a few of our guy friends last night (just for fun mia! and mom!) Spaghetti with sauce that I made (a bit of garlic, half an onion finely chopped, basil, a dash of cheyenne pepper, a bunch of veggies, and some ground beef), garlic bread, and salad. yum!
it has been a lot of fun (but busy) these last four days! yay!!! :D
okay...i'm done!!
oh! and that top picture is a ship that looks an awful lot like a pirate ship. I enjoyed that...

"LET ME STAND NEXT TO YOUR FIRE"

So today was not exactly how I wanted to spend any Sunday...
I have been feeling crummy since Friday night--aches, fever, nausea, etc...
and then on Saturday, it got worse. So I slept all day.
Then this morning I woke up still feeling sick but not as bad, but still bad enough that I needed to stay in bed some more.
Lori (the mom of the kids I watch) told me (very nicely and gently) that she wasn't allowed to go to work for 5 days if someone in her house has the flu (she works in a medical research/testing company) so I went to the only medical place that is open on a sunday...the ER.
I was there for 4.5 hours to find out that I DON'T have the flu and I don't have strep, and I don't have mono, I don't have anything. Not really anyway. I have some sort of viral infection that my body is fighting because my white blood cell count is elevated 5000 more than normal. Because of that, he told me to just rest it up for a day or two. BUT he was a very nice and comprehended how much pain I was in from the throat up, so he gave me an antibiotic for that. yay!
and I had my blood drawn today (duh, how else would they know my white blood cell count) and it was my first real time and I was so upset by it (I can't explain it, but needles/giving/drawing blood freaks me out) that I cried a little... :(
Lori has been really great! She went to the store and bought me italian ice for my sore throat, a gatorade, some apple juice, some tissues, and as a snack some on-the-go fruit loops. :D very sweet...

Then there was this. Luckily no one was hurt.

And this is just the HALF my friend got on his cell phone. The entire building went down. Read the article--it is very short.

So, how was your sunday?
